Danube Energy+ Public Event in Karlsruhe

At the end of September InnoEnergy hosted the first public event in the context of “Danube Energy+”.

Creating an ecosystem for young entrepreneurs

The transnational INTERREG project is geared towards supporting young innovators and brings together 9 organisations from many different countries, amongst them InnoEnergy as the lead partner of the consortium.

The objective of the EU-funded programme is to create an enabling environment, which will support young innovators to pioneer a change in the energy efficiency area by setting up highly innovative start-ups in the Danube macro-region.

Project partners, political stakeholders, university students and other guests had been invited to Karlsruhe for the official presentation and announcement of the start of the project.

The programme was complemented by expert insights: Dr. Ing. Hans Hubschneider from the local fokus.energie network shared his experiences as a serial entrepreneur and creator of a network for energy start-ups, while Markus Lau from KIT provided the scientific background with research findings for businesses in the energy sector.

Dirk Bessau, head of the InnoEnergy Berlin office and responsible for business development, expressed his satisfaction with the event and said he was looking forward to the actual implementation of the Danube Energy+ programme. “We have set up a really good network of project partners and are really excited to support the planned initiatives in the Danube region.”

InnoEnergy’s Christo Balinow, Business Development Director for Central Europe, added: “It is definitely valuable for the success of this project that we can already rely on structures and a network of partners. This will help to reach the goals of this INTERREG initiative and achieve sustainable results for all involved parties.”

The Danube Energy+ project includes piloting actions with a capitalization phase and runs until 2021.
