In 2022, European investors backed deeptech start-ups with $17bn with EIT InnoEnergy leading in the cleantech segment, according to the Financial Times-backed Sifted. Since 2010, EIT InnoEnergy has supported over 500 innovations and our current equity portfolio of more than 180 companies, is estimated to potentially generate €72.8 billion in revenue and reduce the world’s annual carbon footprint by 1.1G tons by 2030. These include major disruptive innovations from floating wind technologies to those that deliver AI-driven energy saving, and balancing off the grid.
The Sifted ranking builds on previous recognitions for EIT InnoEnergy by PitchBook, Startup Genome and the International Energy Agency (IEA).
