The need

Heat production up to 200°C in industry is responsible for ~5% of global energy consumption – for which over 90% fossil fuels are still used today. High-temperature heat pumps that can provide heat up to 200°C sustainably using waste heat are therefore urgently needed.

The solution

ecop’s rotation heat pump technology is based on a pure gas process that enables industrial companies to convert their heat production up to 200°C from natural gas to green electricity. In contrast to conventional heat pumps, the heat pump technology does not use F-gases or flammable refrigerants. As ecop’s rotation heat pump can also achieve very high temperature lifts with high efficiency, it is an optimal solution for many applications in industry, district heating and geothermal energy. 

The value proposition

  • Capable of attaining -30°C – 200°C heat efficiently over the whole temperature range, with long-term stability and temperature lift of up to 100K.
  • High COP even at lifts up to 100K
  • Outstanding cooling properties. Ideal if the rotation heat pump is used for cold- and heat production at the same time. Cold and Heat can often be provided with little more electrical energy than is needed for the chillers anyway. Example: datacenter, Dairy industry, etc.
  • Practically no risk to the environment in contrast to other technologies (toxic and poisonous working media etc.).
