Job Profiles & Skills Intelligence
Data-driven skills for clean tech
A smarter way to build the workforce you need
The path to net zero is not just about technology. It is about people. And to develop the right skills at the right time, we need more than good intentions. We need intelligence. At InnoEnergy Skills Institute, we turn skills data into clear, future ready job profiles. These profiles guide workforce planning, training and career development, all aligned with real industry needs. Our database already includes more than 145+ job profiles across the clean energy sector, and it continues to grow.
From data to roles
Our methodology turns skills data into clear, actionable job profiles. At its core is our own Green Skills Framework and Skills Taxonomy. This is the foundation behind all our intelligence work and clean energy workforce solutions.
We gather and analyse insights from job listings, training providers, industry players and labour market trends. AI tools support this process, helping us extract patterns, identify emerging roles and highlight skill gaps at scale. The data is structured into our Skills Taxonomy aligned with ESCO, but tailored for clean energy. It includes many sector-specific skills missing from standard databases. The data is then further categorised based on the Green Skills Framework.
It goes beyond job titles. It focuses on what people need to know and be able to do, enabling more targeted training, clearer role definitions and smarter workforce planning.
Skills Intelligence methodology
Clarity powers progress
Vague job titles, mismatched training, and outdated role descriptions slow down the energy transition. Clear, well-structured job profiles bring consistency to how we hire, train and upskill across the fast-evolving clean tech sector. With accurate jobs profiles, the benefits you get are:
1
Define what each role requires. Not just in name, but in skill and action
2
Align training with real industry needs, faster and more effectively
3
Design modular learning journeys and clear career pathways
4
Reskill and upskill teams quickly as technologies evolve
5
Make confident decisions without guesswork
Shared skills vs. specialised roles
Even job roles that sound similar can differ in key ways. They all share a strong foundation of core technical and safety skills, but the contexts, tools and processes they work with require unique capabilities.
Take a look to find out how Skills Intelligence helps define these differences clearly. It’s a practical example of how our methodology supports targeted training and smarter workforce planning.
