Before you get started working in a profession that interacts with electrical systems, the course will help you to acquire an introductory knowledge about electrical circuits and how they work. A basic electrical circuit is simple – it consists of a power source, connected by a conductor to a load device, and controlled by a switch, allowing the flow of electrons to power a load. This basic concept is used in a vast array of applications, from toasters to heating systems, to more complex electrical systems such as in electric vehicles.
This course provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts of electrical systems, including circuits, components, and basic electrical theory. The curriculum covers key terms, functions of the parts in a circuit, and how the energy flows through the circuit.
This foundational level course is for technicians who would like to work on electric vehicles, identifying faults within high voltage electrical systems and components (during production or in service), removing, repairing and replacing.
