Today, about one-third of total energy consumption is used for transportation. By using fossil fuels as its main source of input energy, the transportation sector is a significant contributor of CO2 emissions and air pollution. Also, as we all know, mobility has changed over the last years and will change rapidly in years to come with electric vehicles playing a major role. In this course, participants will learn about the electrification of the transportation system and how this development affects the overall energy system. Next, they will hear from an engineer from the field who will share crucial insights about the current market of electric vehicles and current and future developments regarding charging infrastructure. They will also learn about some emerging new business models linked to electric vehicles.
